The Walking Dead is exactly what it sounds like; a zombie tv series. With all the video games and movies about the undead, its great to see a high quality zombie series. Sure, its not all high action, seeing as AMC wanted to make it a bit more real; show the emotions people would go through during such an event. So expect lots of twists and character development. So it follows a cop that wakes up in the hospital to find himself alone, and in a zombie ridden world. His one quest is to find his wife and son and will stop to nothing to find them. So its not that original but the characters are believable and easy to relate to. The zombie makeup is amazing and they aren't afraid to shoot creepy, children zombies! Sadly, its first season was really short, only 6 episodes. But well worth the watch, i enjoyed all of them. So what do you guys think? Nay or Yay? here is the trailer:

In my opinion the fact that this was TV show and based on a comic book seemed to blind people to the fact that there was very little original about this series. I've not read the comics but I have friends who have and have said it was pretty faithful, so it seems it was successful in that department, but to me it just felt like I'd seen it all before. Maybe its the swamping of the box office with zombie flicks over the last decade, although as a self proclaimed horror nut I've been watching them for years.

I disagree because you look at those that are more "realistic", they lack the compassion and raw human emotion exuded in the series. I saw the pilot, then lost cable, so I can't wait to get it back in time for season 2. Also gonna try to be an extra since its all filmed near me lol

Maybe I went into it expecting too much. I just felt that after waiting so long and being teased and teased with clips etc, that it was a pretty by numbers zombie apocalypse tale that concentrated more on the survivors issues that the zombie plague. I'll definately give season 2 a shot, from what I read it will be a full season rather than a 6-episode mini-series. I did get some enjoyment out of it, heck it was good just to see a zombie based TV series.

Its more about survivors than the zombie outbreak which makes it a more unique zombie experience.

thats what I liked about it. Was that it focused on the emotions of the selected survivors. If it was all about the plague, then we wouldnt really be connected as much as we are with these people. These are regular people. Not crazy smart people that are so badass that they are going to save the word. (resident evil movies)

I loved the first episode. I was left drooling for more by the second, but by the fourth meh set in for me. I think this is a total watch for anyone that like shows/movies about zombies or character driven stories.
I got soggy on the series mid way through because it started to feel like the world was flat for me. Too many characters and plots where introduced and just dropped for me. It started to feel like people outside of the main characters were just set pieces to give the heroes something to do. I think actually the ending is the greatest crime to the series. I think it is just because they are trying to be realistic and in the real world all these hanging moments would occur, but also maybe its because of the 6 episode length. (just not enough time)
I can't wait for the new season to come out. From the news I heard about it, i heard a lot things are going to be addressed and improved. All and all give me more of this zombie-porn ^_^
